Okay, we all know that in real life when you are providing services in a certain area to clients, you really need to pay attention to their needs. Simply put the more attention you pay to your customers, the more this will be reflected in the number of purchases they will make. Easy peasy, right?

Well, what about your website? Does this take the same care of your users like you do in real life?

First thing first: What is User Experience?

We can talk for hours about definitions but mainly is about all interactions a user has with a product or service. It is the personal experience users go through when using a product’s interface.

So, that means it’s about how your website behaves and what kind of feeling creates for the customer. Hint: it should reflect your business activity and your usual clients. If not, it’s time to improve it.

Why should it be important for your website and business?

People are coming to your website with a purpose: to find some info, to buy something, or just to look around. Usually, you only have about 30 seconds to convince them to keep scrolling.

If the page doesn’t load properly, if the content is not optimized, if your customer is stuck in a buying procedure or he’s lost navigating through your website…well, this is the moment you should care about good user experience because you are about to lose a potential client.

Pieces of advice to remember

  1. Optimes it. Mobile users are five times more likely to abandon a task if your website is not optimized for their device
  2. A modern, pleasing-looking website will send the right message to your clients: you take care of your website as you do for your profession. The feeling they will get is of a professional that takes care of every aspect of his business.
  3. Figure out who your users are, address them in their language, according to their needs
  4. Easy and simple is the key to your online business. Through an easy and practical customer journey, your client will be satisfied with the end product that he obtained (it can be a product from your website or just your contact info)- what matters is that he achieved his goal fast and easy, with no hassle.
  5. A well-designed website could raise your website’s conversion rate by up to 180 percent
  6. Ask for help. As you are an expert in your area, talk to people that do this as a full-time job and can help you grow your online presence.
